Getting Ready for Summer

The Desert Farming Initiative has had a great winter season – we couldn’t grow enough greens for Nevada! It is wonderful to see everyone supporting local food. Thank you to our customers!
It is spring now and we need to get our hoop houses planted with summer crops. Sarah Krum, a DFI intern, is pulling all of the arugula that bolted so that we can cleanly harvest the remaining lettuce. This house will be planted with tomatoes by the end of the week!
